Getting Started with Breastfeeding
If you plan to breastfeed, a lactation consultant will visit you during your hospital stay and will provide information, assistance, and support. We have Certified Lactation Counselors and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants on staff. These nurses have received additional specialized training in helping moms and babies with breastfeeding.
After you go home, the lactation nurses will call to see how you and your baby are doing and can answer any additional questions you may have. Breastfeeding assistance is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. most weekends by leaving a message on the lactation support line at 904.819.4353. One of our lactation specialists will return your call within 24 hours. Or email lactationservices@flaglerhealth.org anytime.
