Dr. Clay Burnett specializes in treating complex heart conditions with leading edge surgical techniques in patients who are 18 and older. He routinely performs complex cardiothoracic surgeries, from coronary bypasses to restore blood flow around a blocked artery to heart valve replacement or repair, aneurysms, and other related adult cardiac procedures. He also specializes in thoracic oncology conditions such as lung cancer, pleural diseases and lung diagnostic biopsies.
Board-certified and fellowship-trained, Dr. Burnett has decades of experience in the operating room. He strives to understand each patient’s unique needs and goals, working with all members of their care team to create an individualized plan for their surgery and follow-up. His goal is to help each person he treats regain their quality of life and improve their health long-term.
Dr. Burnett earned his doctor of medicine degree from East Carolina University and completed his surgical fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX, and his thoracic oncology training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
