Although restorative yoga has been around for thousands of years, recently it's the "new hot class" according to the Wall Street Journal Restorative yoga focuses on the yin part of the yin/yang of yoga: relaxation, stretching and breathing. In class we hold the poses longer to allow the muscles to relax so that we can focus on the restoration of the other connective tissues (e.g. ligaments, tendons, fascia). This results in more viscosity in these tissues and in our joints. We add in a few balance poses and pay attention to our breathing and relaxation throughout. Anyone can do this class!

Participants should bring a yoga mat and any other props (e.g. blocks, straps, bolster, blanket, etc.) they’d like to use to class.
