Gabe Valla, MHL, BSN, RN

Gabe Valla is Administrator of Critical Care and Cardiovascular Services and is proud to provide direction and oversight of 13 departments and to support the mission, values, and vision of UF Health St. Johns.

He joined Flagler Health in 2007 as a Registered Nurse in Open Heart Recovery and became a Medical Informatics Educator in 2016. After two years, he returned to Cardiovascular Services as the Nurse Manager. In 2019, he was elevated to Administrator of Critical Care and Cardiovascular Services. Mr. Valla has helped grow the Cardiovascular Service lines, successfully launched a Structural Heart Program, served as Incident Command Chief of Operations and Logistics, and as Administrator of Surgical Services and Utilization review.

Before joining the team at Flagler Health+, Mr. Valla was a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Mayo Clinic (1998-2007) and a Registered Nurse at UF Health in Gainesville, Florida.

Mr. Valla views education and professional development as a lifelong endeavor and has dedicated his career to patient-centered care. He holds a Master's degree in Health Leadership, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.

Mr. Valla has earned numerous awards in his career including the LifeNet Health Tissue Donation Award of Excellence, the 100 Great Nurses of North Florida Award, and Employee of the Month at Flagler.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing guitar and mandolin, and fishing in native Florida waterways.
